You will learn your craft from the ground up, through a mix of workshops, tech demos, creative problem solving challenges, and collaborative briefs. We believe that in this field you will learn best by making, so you can look forward to creating digital work from day one

You will be taught through creative workshops, technical labs, seminars and project drop-ins. These sessions are supported by individual and team tutorials throughout your degree programme.

What we Offer?

About Us

Our Values

We want the best for our students. we want you to graduate with an understanding of the local, regional and global context, and with networks across all three. You should have a broad understanding of the world in which you will be working, and be ready to face the challenges of the workplace. You must be technologically adroit while understanding those who are not. You need to develop sharp analytic skills with cutting edge creativity and entrepreneurial flair.

We promise to treat you as individuals, not just as numbers. We will provide the support you need to grow and develop, both intellectually and as citizens.

We are an innovative and resourceful group with roots in the synergies between employers and creativity that are the drivers of sustainable economic development. We pride ourselves on our sense of community and our nurturing ethos.

Our excellent research is novel and crosses disciplines; we value both making and the links between thinking and doing. We welcome the diversity of our students, and their multiple narratives, and we are a place where students change their lives and change the world.

In the next decade we will apply our skills to global challenges and local opportunities, we will focus as one community able to harness all of our strengths and capabilities, and while looking outwards we will be rooted in Bath, essential to the city and the region.

As an explorative applied learning community we will nurture lifelong learning capabilities, instilling the curiosity and confidence all our students need to navigate a challenging ever changing world of opportunity.

Our curriculum will be applied with an emphasis on developing creative, sustainable solutions to local and global challenges. Through the curriculum, the learning environment and our pedagogical approaches, we will prepare our students for diverse and evolving careers that are meaningful to them, and that enable them to be responsible global citizens. We will do this through a personalised and caring approach to learning and wellbeing. By doing this, we can make the world better.

We recognise that regular attendance and active engagement with teaching and learning is an essential component of successful student retention, progression, achievement and employability. The Student Attendance Monitoring system has been developed as a useful tool for identifying problems at an early stage so that students can be offered appropriate support. This system supports the University’s commitment to provide a high quality student experience and to create a supportive learning environment which enables all students to complete their studies and achieve their full potential.

We expect all students to engage fully with their studies and to attend all timetabled sessions associated with the course on which they are enrolled. Full and active participation provides students with opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge needed to successfully complete their course. To this end, students are expected to:

  • Organise their personal, social, work, residential and other arrangements to facilitate attendance and engagement, as required by their specific program of study;
  • Attend all timetabled sessions, which may include lectures, tutorials, workshops, labs, placements, site visits, and in the case of research students, scheduled meetings with supervisors;
  • Arrive on time for sessions and remain for the duration of the session;
  • Participate fully in group work and group meetings, as required by their course of study;
  • Notify their module tutors in advance if they expect to be absent from any module event.

We strongly encourage students to take advantage of the internship or work immersion opportunities.

Internships provide valuable, supervised, practical training periods that allow students to gain industry experience. They offer a unique chance for students to apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their studies in a real-life work environment, providing them with firsthand knowledge of the respective industries.

The benefits of participating in internships are numerous. Students acquire practical experience in a professional setting, which cannot be replicated within the confines of a classroom. This experience enables them to understand the practical applications of their academic learnings and enhances their overall understanding of the subject matter.
